San Francisco Awarded $96 Million in Housing Developments Grant

It’s good to see that a bankrupt state is putting at least some of it’s diminishing funds into good development projects.  The San Francisco Sentinel brings us this story of their city’s plans for infill and TOD.  The state has contributed just shy of 100 million dollars toward the effort of building seven projects (two TOD and five infill) within the city.  These projects are expected to stimulate the area’s economy and to upgrade some public housing projects into mixed-use and income neighborhoods as part of San Francisco’s Hope SF program, somewhat like the federal Hope VI program.  It’s good to see money going towards good projects in one of America’s most livable cities.
